Lucky Me, Your Project ~ 90BPM

Texte alternatif

Excuse me, could you judge me?
Do you mind the sacrifice?
I must’ve had that look on my face
It’s nice of you to offer
Advice on how to change
I may not know you well, but I can tell you’re insightful
It’s simply delightful

It’s refreshing really
To know you will be
Watching my every move
And lucky me, you’re project
A guilty object
Maybe you can save me too
Lucky me, you’re project—ooh ooh ooh ooh

I wonder how you found me
Did I stand out in the crowd?
Forgot to wear my letter that day

Naively, I believed that
You wanted to know me well
But as a notch upon your belt, I’ll get closer to Heaven
A useful endeavor

It’s refreshing really
To know you will be
Watching my every move
And lucky me, you’re project
A guilty object
Maybe you can save me too
Lucky me, you’re project—ooh ooh ooh ooh

We’ll laugh about later

Lyric notes: verse/chorus start... I'm a Christian, but I've been treated like a "project" by other Christians in the past, eager to "convert" or help save me. Problem was, they didn't stop pushing long enough to find out whether I already believed or had been born again. I have to wonder if this kind of approach, while I understand the enthusiasm and even desperation that comes with wanting other people to see and experience the joy of what they're feeling, is part of the reason a lot of people get turned off by Christianity because of Christians.
