See the fall of the leaves
They will all come down
Feel the breeze
It will blow some of them far away
Where they'll fall to the ground
Only to be found by a ladybug
Searching for a home

Don't you worry about the fall
It all comes together somehow

See the fall of the snow
Delicately floating
Feel the cold
As the east winds blow, growing stronger now
When it feels like a storm
Don't forget new things are/life is born
From the cold, hard ground
Some need it

Don't you worry about the fall
It all comes together somehow

Somehow, somehow

Hear creatures in the night
As they find a place to hide
We all need time
We all need time to find our way

See the fall of the raindrops
Drip drip drop
Feel them on your skin
Drink them in
Everyone of them is complicated
Though together they may join
With the power to destroy
At the simple root
We need them to survive
The ladybug and I

Don't you worry about the fall
It all comes together somehow

Somehow, somehow

Don't you worry about the fall
It all comes together somehow

Lyric notes: A reflection on the cycles and phases we all have to go through to shape who we are and who we become. And it’s a love song of sorts – written in awe of the miraculous details in nature that make everything work.

I’m so thankful to Bryan Daste for helping to bring this song to life; to my husband, Ross Segelken for being such a supportive and wonderful partner; and to Kathryn A. Wood for who she was in my life and for generously helping me and others follow some dreams. I think she would’ve liked this song. It’s dedicated to my brother, D, with love and complication.

The Future Will Repay - Single cover artwork

He’s a sailor
Stuck in a factory
Never been to the ocean
But he lives in the sea——
Swimming in Familiar

And drinking day-to-day

Floating on a promise

The future will repay—

Hey——hey———hey——

He's a father
If he remembers right
Never seen his little daughter
But he does mean to write——
To tell her he's a champion
A hero on his way
With his head above this water
The future will repay—
Hey, hey——hey——

He’s an island
In the river wide—— of his life

No way to ride, no way to roam

He’s a goner
If they explained it right
30 years in a bottle
He never could seem to fight——
He’s waiting for the whistle
To send him on his way
A journey for redemption/To make his reparations
The future will repay—
Hey, hey——hey——

He’s an island
In the briny deep—— of his life
No way to ride and no way to roam

He’s an island
In the briny deep——
Floating empties on the waves
With a prayer inside

Lyric notes: Driving in my old white Bronco II, I saw a beaten-down looking guy on the side of the road, waiting for someone or something...

Sitting on the subway yesterday—
A little something caught me
I had never seen before
Just outside a tunnel
As I turned to face your way
Hey, hey--- hey, what’s that?

Chorus:
Was it love in your eyes?
No, it could be the light
Was it love in your eyes?
I don’t know
Was it love in your eyes?
Or a trick on my mind?
I don’t know—
Oh I want—to, though?

Through the years I’ve known you, we’re just friends
And never had that conversation
Could we be much more
To tell the truth I’ve wondered
But I’ve been afraid to say it
Hey, hey--- hey, what’s that?

Chorus:
Was it love in your eyes?
No, it could be the light
Was it love in your eyes?
I don’t know
Was it love in your eyes?
Or a trick on my mind?
I don’t know—
Oh, I want—to, though

Bridge:
Fear of losing
What we’ve got
Keeps me quietly wondering
But now and then
I feel like jumping off
Maybe we should try——

Chorus:
Was it love in your eyes?
No, it could be the light
Was it love in your eyes?
I don’t know
Was it love in your eyes?
Or a trick on my mind?
I don’t know—
Oh, I want—to, though

Was it love in your eyes?
No, it could be the light
Was it love in your eyes?
I don’t know
Was it love in your eyes?
Or a trick on my mind?
I don’t know—
Oh, I want—to, though

Home If You Were Here cover artwork - Kelli Caldwell Songwriter

The roof gets hot in the summer
No place else to escape
And me and myself
Listen to the world race by—below
Little do they know
Up here—we're conquering our fears—
In one more day I plan to say
I'm over you

Chorus:
But if you were here
Here could be anywhere
If you were here
Here could be here
And I'd like it
No, I'd love it
I'd want to make it my home—

The concrete stretches forever
Grey on grey getting old
And me and head
Scouring the steeled and stoned—for more
It may be for the hundredth time
But I’m making up my mind—
In one more day I plan to say
I’m over you

Chorus:
But if you were here
Here could be anywhere
If you were here
Here could be here
And I'd like it
No, I'd love it
I'd want to make it my home—

Bridge:
I could sleep on cold, hard granite
And I could live on a distant planet
And I would love it all
If you were here—

Chorus:
But if you were here
Here could be anywhere
If you were here
Here could be here
And I'd like it
No, I'd love it
I'd want to make it my home—
Home if you were here

Chorus:
Oh if you were here
Here could be anywhere
If you were here
Here could be here
And I'd like it
No, I'd love it
I'd want to make it my home—
Home if you were here
If you were here

Lyric notes: I started writing this song sitting on my rooftop in the East Village in New York in the middle of August...
